Available in both single-phase and three-phase configurations, the GH-1440 allows shops to select a machine that matches their available electrical service. The GH-1440-1 operates on 230V single-phase power, while the GH-1440-3 is designed for 230/460V three-phase power, with the machine factory-wired for 230V.

The geared headstock provides mechanical spindle-speed selection for different workpiece materials, cutting tools, and machining requirements. Spindle-speed ranges and the number of selectable speeds vary by electrical configuration.

With a 14″ swing over the bed and 40″ distance between centers, the JET GH-1440 accommodates a wide variety of workpieces, including shafts, bushings, threaded components, and precision-machined replacement parts.

A 2″ spindle bore allows larger-diameter bar stock to pass through the headstock, while the D1-5 camlock spindle mount supports compatible chucks and workholding equipment.

GH-1440-1 – Single-Phase Model

The GH-1440-1 operates on 230V single-phase power and is intended for shops without three-phase electrical service. JET’s current product listing specifies eight geared spindle speeds from 90 to 1,800 RPM.

GH-1440-3 – Three-Phase Model

The GH-1440-3 operates on 230/460V three-phase power and is factory-wired for 230V. The February 2026 manual lists 16 geared spindle speeds from 45 to 1,800 RPM. Electrical conversion requirements should be confirmed before ordering or installation.
